Perspective
There are three types of linear perspective
One point PerspectiveAll parallel lines appear to merge at one point in a drawing or painting.
In the above image pay attention to the point where all parallel lines appear to meet.
In the painting below notice how the light poles become smaller in the distance. |
Two point perspectiveThere are two vanishing points. Observe the angles at which the lines are slanted to trick your eyes into seeing the illusion.

Aerial Perspective
This is another method of an illusion of depth using colour and their values.
This painting is a good example of aerial perspective. Colours are vibrant in the foreground. Observe the bright reds and greens used. They then become less intense as it fades into the background. The two figures also look hazy.
